Surprise! I'm your waitress tonight ...
March 5th, 2020
I am so angry. I started this post hours ago.
My computer thought it would be funny just as I was ready to post it -
to update and restart so I lost the whole thing. Now. Here I sit again.
My husband's birthday just passed.
I mentioned out loud that we should have went to Montana to surprise him. Big mistake. Huge! Shailah heard me and informed me that if I didn't go after saying it - that I was boring. An old hag who doesn't like adventures.
So, you know what I said? Pack your crap! I am not an old hag.
Found a sitter for the animals, loaded up Rhonnnnnda and hit the dusty trail.
This is at 5pm mind you. Though, no different then any other time we would be starting out. After driving for about days, we hit a blizzard with no wind shield wipers so I decided it was time to find a hotel to camp in till day break when we could start out again.
Yessssss! Sleep.
Que alarm! And shower time. Lets gooooo!
First stop. Saisha's who was less then pleased that we showed up asking her who the truck belonged to that was parked out in the front of her place.
Correct. She had company and we were sent away. Headed to Minnie's a local food place there & then back to Saisha's for the night before to big unveiling.
Next stop. Rusty's.
Talk about painful! We thought it would be cute to stick the kids on his porch as his b-day gift. The two girls were at their ninja best and made it to the steps while Shurree' and Shailah hid in near by bushes to capture the moment on film.
A moment that was not about to happen. I called him to let him know there was a package for him. I was informed he just left the post office and there was nothing there. I had to talk him into going to look out the screen door because it said it was delivered. BAM! the shocked look was more then worth it.
We didn't get away though before we stopped to eat and Rusty decided to open the party room for himself, set up tables and hooked up heaters. 1/2 a birthday song later and it was over as fast as it started.
Back to Saisha's for the night. Leaving in the morning.
Made a call to Blazz and he was less then ... lets say pissed that we weren't stopping to see him before we left town. Did I say that we weren't?
B.E.T.
We stayed extra days so we could because like I would miss seeing my son. Nope. After hours we got to him to surprise him. Not before driving around campus 30 times. Go! Grizzles!
It was about 4pm and he had to be on stage at 6:30 so more then enough time to take him out to dinner. O! Did I say enough time? O! I must not have mentioned Denny's then.
"Hi! I am Trisha and I will be your server."
Shurree: "You look like a Jessica"
Me: "Her name is Trisha."
Her: "That is so weird. How did you know my name? Do we know each other? Have we met?"
***Note: Are you freaking kidding me right now?
Her: "It's so weird because another job I had, I went by the name of Jessica ... Mind blown."
At this point Blazz and I are fighting over space on the ground while tears are rolling down my face. I am gasping for air. I can't breathe and can't believe the jokes about dumb blondes really are true.
Food comes out and seriously? I was so done. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese. What was set in front of my was a saucer size, rock hard half an omelet looking thing.
Me: "Must be a new cook huh?"
Her: "Oh yeah, there is. My boyfriend."
Me: "That explains it!"
Her: "Is that a dis to me too?"
Lets just say we walked out of there almost 3 hours later with our total check dropping from $75.00 down to less then $20.00 and 3 free cups/toys for the kids. I stayed calm and did not yell though. I told them very politely to get their shiz-its together.
Hugs. Kisses and many miles later.
H<3ME SWEET H<3ME!
