1. 2. Halloween is Coming for You!

                         This is the day we have all been waiting for - a least I have.
                                     A day that "will go down in history."


McDonalds is re- releasing their Boo-Bucket Halloween kids treat, happy meal holders. I believe there will be a Ghost, a Witch and a Pumpkin but not necessarily in that order or any other one in particular. 

     It is quite important to me as these were such a part of my childhood. Now, we never went out to fast food much when I was a kid. It just wasn't a thing back then like it is today where your car ends up there 6 out of 7 days/nights a week.      It was more of a treat but not really because it was so cheap back then. I could always remember the Big Mac - $1.00 and get change back slogan. H*ll, back in the day whenever "you" took a roll of film - yes, film was on rolls back then, to Pay-N-Save (yes, there was a place called Pay-N-Save) you would get a coupon for a free Big Mac. I swear at any one time, I had at least 50 of them stock piled. I mean seriously, you could only eat so many of the 2 all beef patties - special sauce - lettuce - cheese - pickles and onions on those sesame seed buns. 
     The kids meal though, I think were much bigger back then or maybe I was just a lot smaller? The best part was always the toys though. McDonalds had, hands down the greatest toy give away ever. Halloween was always the favorite. You would get a little rock hard Chicken McNugget (much like you are served today) about the size of 1/2 of your first & middle fingers held together and they were dressed up in costumes. My Gosh! To be able to collect a whole 10 piece. The fun of it all.


It is sad these days though that the toys are pretty much "glorified garbage" and surely not meant to last. The food has went down hill and the ice cream machine never works. But! They might just be making a come back - at least to us 80s kids with these pails that are being offered *for a limited time only.
     I know I need to get my hands on one. I am not sure what I will do with it but I need it or maybe just making sure that the Grandkids all get them will be enough to keep me happy and reminding me of the simpler days.

Another thing McDonalds just interduce was the Adult Kids Meal. Okay, we see you. It was a "pretty good" idea for a second but that dwindled quickly as the toy inside - was nothing less then - creepy. Sadly made - looking like the painter of the eyes was NO Pablo Picasso. Yes, I know the eyes were supposed to look like that but why? Why were they supposed to? The whole concept was just a huge let down. At least it was for me. I did not buy one. I don't cotton to things in that manner. Though I am going to be on the look out for anything else new that comes along, we will see how far I am willing to go to get the items they are trying to lure me in with.

*Note: Stick to the yester-year toys and you will rack up your numbers in customers which might just help for business - due to the lack of speedy service you lapse in.

On a more exciting news though:

     I have just seen where Starbucks will be releasing their Peppermint Mocha in "bottle" form again this Holiday Season. Now this is something I really get joyful (see how I played my words on that? Joyful like Ho. Ho. Ho. Merry Christmas) anyways, over. I more then love those drinks - the only thing that could make them more stellar is if they put them back in glass bottles and used the dark chocolate sauce again. Heaven in every sip. I know this is something I will surly be rushing out to buy and keep many, many on back stock - hidden for "guilty pleasures" whenever I need them through out the coming year of 2023. Believe me, I will need cases so y'all grab 'em when you see 'em because I am headed to shop.


So, now that I have spent this whole blog sounding like a television commercial for whatever I am being paid to advertise, which I am not getting paid but just letting fellow enthuses know what is up in the World ... enjoy the start of your week and don't forget to get a Boo Bucket before they are gone because after all:

                                        Day 153. Is that even believable?       I can answer that in just two letters. No.  Even more unbelievable is that there are only 213 more days left until we start to "ring" in a new year. I mean like, what? How even?      How even? Sending a Letter to Heaven

                                          Hello Grandma, are you there?      Not to long ago, I came across an article that convinced me to "write a letter" to the person who "took my heart away" when they gained their wings.      As I read it - it told me that the grieving process is much harder for some then it is for others. I believe my "story" goes into the column of (the MOST hard) as it has been. Over twenty years have escaped now since you have left me. My life never being the same from that day on.       I have so many things to ask you and so much to tell you. Any cake BUT chocolate.

  My Grandmother's birthday has got to be one of the hardest days to get through since I lost her in 2001. I wrote this awhile back but with September 11th being tomorrow, I thought this might be the right time to share it. I had planned on taking Shurree' out to see Skye today. She has been asking me for a long time, to get pictures of her three kids together. I try so hard to avoid it. Nothing to do with the child. Just not something I am able to handle. Still. It was Mom's day though so I thought I would brave it out. At least attempt too. I wanted to go by my old residence as well. Bike Capital of The Northwest. Wendy's. My first job. The Redmond House.
